Part Two- Buechner
-
Faith dies as it lives laughing
-
in faith there are things that sound to good to be true
-
Jesus takes on flesh
-
Yawning says we don't get it
-
Faith is more a verb then a noun
-
Not do you have faith but how are you living in faith?
-
How am I living in faith? Not do I have faith?
-
-
Faith is more a process then a possesion
-
You need to go through it, not just hold it
-
-
Faith is more on-again-off-again rather then once-and-for-all
-
The feeling of faith, goes up and down, highs and lows
-
-
Faith is a journey without maps, but going anyway
-
you just have to go with it, God will use you
-
-
Doubt isn't the oppisite of faith; It is an element of faith
-
There will always be questions
-
Don't be afraid of doubt
-
give youself permission to doubt your doubts
-
Faith can't prove a damned thing, or a blessed thing either
Buechner is telling us that we mustlive out our faith and that it's what we go through. It's not just having faith, it's whar you do with it. You have to live the journey. This is hard sometimes but it needs to be done.
